A scene from a recent trip kayaking. I’m obsessed with learning how to paint clouds and water reflections.

We have a butterfly bush and it attracts these huge yellow butterflies (eastern tiger swallowtail). I saw the same one many days in a row that was as large as my entire hand! I painted this in honor of that butterfly that I named “Big Guy,” and in honor of all the other butterflies that visited this summer.

This ended a lot differently than I expected. Good thing this was just an experiement!

I’ve been very into yellow this summer.
